It is time for our annual Candy Guess contest. This is a great fundraiser for the Grade 6 Year End Trip.
Tickets are $0.25 for 1 guess or $1.00 for 5 guesses. Winner will be announced on Friday, March, 6.

Thanks to all who have provided food for our potlucks so far. The students are really enjoying sharing a meal like this together. Our next Potluck date is February 21.
Frank Ryan - We are heading to Frank Ryan on Thursday, Feb. 20. The students will be viewing a presentation of what Frank Ryan offers and will be given a tour of the school. Please return the permission form that came home this week. Report Cards - Sent home on Thursday, Feb. 13. Please sign and return the bottom portion of the second sheet and the envelope. French Pathway - A note has gone home with information about which French Pathway students will be going into in Grade 7. Please fill this out and return it by March 2. Pizza and Subway Orders - Term 2 orders due Feb. 19 The Grade 6 classes are participating in 3 potluck lunches. The students have been divided into 3 groups. Group 1 will be bringing food on February 6th. The other 2 groups as asked to bring in $5 for each day they are not bringing food. We will be deciding as a group where to direct funds raised.
The other potluck dates are: Group 2 - February 10 Group 3 - February 21 Please do not send food with nuts, sesame seeds, or seafood. St Rita is holding its 8th Annual White Elephant Sale on Friday December 6th.
All money raised will be donated to CHEO and Children at Risk. This event has been very successful over the past 7 years. Last year alone, St. Rita raised $1350!!! The sale has only been possible with the help from the St. Rita community and friends. Listed below are examples of items that can be donated. Toys (all pieces should be included), stuffed animals (please ensure they are clean), books (children and adult books) , household items (frames, mugs, decorative plates, tea towel, costume jewelry etc), holiday decorations (ornaments, candles, mugs, baskets, figurines etc...). Please NO clothing. All items will be sold for between 25¢ and $5.00, most will be under $1.00. We will also have items up for raffle. Raffle tickets will be 25¢ or 50¢ each. This is an excellent opportunity for students to buy gifts for family and friends and to help out 2 wonderful charities! Thank you for your generosity. Where has the time gone?! We've been very busy working on many fun projects. We set a goal to collect 60 cans for the Canned Food Drive. We exceeded our goal and collected 64! Thanks to everyone who brought in some cans.
Next up - our chocolate bar fundraiser. The boxes when home yesterday and we've already had 3 students ask for second box. WOW! Please check the math and language tabs for updates on what we are working on. Have an excellent long weekend! The first week flew by in a flash and we are settling in well to our routines.
Thanks to everyone who got their forms in quickly. If you haven't had a chance to fill them out, please do it as soon as possible. Please continue to check this website on a regular basis for updates! Yesterday we sent home a permission form for our Grade 4 field trip to the Museum of Science and Technology on June 11, 2019. We hope this will be a very fun day for all.
In order for this trip to be a success, we need to have AT LEAST 6 parent volunteers. Please consider joining us on this great day. If you would like to join us, you are required to have a police record check. Monday, May 6th - Open House 7:45 am - 8:30 am Join us for coffee and treats and go on a tour of your child(ren)’s classroom. Grade 4 students are asked to bring pre-sliced coffee cake or squares - Book Fair - Learning Commons. We will be going as a class this afternoon. Parents are also welcome to shop with their children during Open House. Tuesday, May 7th - Jump Rope for Heart - Primary am, Junior pm - Please return envelopes with donations Wednesday, May 8th - Whole School Art Activity - am - Education Week Mass - 1:30 pm - all are welcome - Book Fair - Learning Commons. Any students who were unable to make purchases during our time on Monday are invited to shop on this day. Thursday, May 9th - Mystérique Presentation - K-2 am, Gr 3-6 pm Friday, May 10th - Young Authors (1st block - selected students) - Talent Show (PM) As part of our Lenten project to support OK Clean water, our Social Justice committee has come up with a fun spirit week to raise money for this very worthy initiative. Any donations are appreciated.
